Hands down favorites
of course were the the Quatemoc and the Pallada, the graceful
giants of the tall ships from Mexico and Russia which arrived
with their crews standing in the rigging and causing the heart
of every mother present to drop to her stomach, and capturing
the heart of everyone else.

The crew of the Russian
Barque Pallada
welcomes us to their home town.

Tacoma loved Tall
Ships. And, the Tall Ships loved Tacoma!. and so, we made history
of a sort on those warm summer days, but of course, this is
not the first time the Tall Ships visited Tacoma. 100 years
ago and more they were an every day fact of life on the Puget
Sound.
