HOSTED BY
DOROTHY WILHELM

Gig Harbor affects people that way. In the beginning there were tall ships. They're still there.

Reminders of the importance of the fishing industry still abound in the picturesque village.

The Tacoma Narrows Bridge is open and while traffic sails across, those who worked on it take a bow, but the project was all consuming. Project Manager Dennis Engel says his wife called the sleek new bridge the second woman in his life.

Work has started on the new St. Anthony's hospital. It will open in early 2009. The hospital will have 80 beds, a full range of emergency services, as well as in/out patient care. It will bring a range of medical care currently not available on the pennisula.

Gig Harbor is growing fast.
We visited the new YMCA.

Enjoy a heartwarming visit with studetns from Gig Harbor and Penninsula High schools who tell about their visit to China and the enduring friendships they made. They even brought back a recipe for Chinese Dumplings for our viewers.
