This month's show features...
  • We visit the Century Ballroom
This legendary site for big bands drew as many as three thousand dancers from all over the area on a Saturday night. We hear stories and memories from Fife residents who danced at the Century including the original hat check girl, which burned down in the Fifties leaving only the legend alive.
  • The New Fife History Museum
We talked with Marian Dacca whose home this used to be, and get a preview of the museum displays.
    SCREENER #1
    FIFE HISTORY MUSEUM
    Saturdays noon until 5 pm
    Sundays 1 until 4 pm.

    Info: 253 896 4710.

  • The Fife School District
shares national award winning programs, including Walls that Teach, and the Fife Schools Refrigerator.

    Just go to www.Fifeschools.com
and click on the refrigerator. You’ll be able to see student work, and what the teacher was trying to teach. Fife is the first school in the nation to try htis project.
  • MAYOR MIKE KELLY AND FORMER MAYOR BOB MIZUKAMI open a time capsule and reminisce about Fife’s early days.
  • Fife once was once covered by farmland, richer even than that found in the Valley of the Nile. Most of that land has been covered by development now, but some farmers are still proudly working the land. We hear from Farmer and Fife City Council Man Rob Cerqui about what’s ahead for the farms.
  • In a take off on the great old play, The Front Page, we ask the the reporters and
staff of the Fife Free Press to share the top stories they’ve reported, and by the way, be sure to see the story the Free Press carried about My Home Town.
