Pioneer Beans
from Ellen Freckelton and the Davidsons

1 lb. hamburger, browned
1/2 lb. bacon, cooked
1/2 C. chopped onion
1/2 C. brown sugar
1/2 C. catsup
1/4 C. prepared mustard
2 T. molasses
1 can kidney beans, drained
1 can lima beans, drained
1 can pork and beans, drained

Mix all ingredients together. Place in large casserole, cover and bake at
350° for 1 hour.

Note: Ellen Freckleton lived to be 99. Her grandparents, Annie and John
Flett, came to Pierce County in the early 1860s. This was one of Ellens
well-known recipes.
