Give the impression that something good is cooking. As soon as you come into the house, turn on the burners of the range. Sprinkle cinnamon over the hot burners. (Don’t overdo this. A listener told me she sprinkled the burner so heavily it caught fire. This is not the effect we’re going for.) Put an onion in the oven. Turn the oven on. Smells like dinner is cooking.

Easy Get Well Gift - or a surprise gift anytime:
Divide a paperback novel into sections and mail one every other day. The book will arrive over the course of a week or two. Really fun for anyone who feels a little lonely and would like more mail.
